Robert 'Bob' Thornton is the current World Seniors darts champion from Scotland. Thornton has three BDO and PDC major titles, including the World Masters in 2007, the UK Open in 2012, and the World Grand Prix in 2015. He was also a finalist in the 2009 Players Championship Finals and the 2013 Grand Slam of Darts. Thornton has also reached three World Championship quarter-finals across both organisations and played in the Premier League in 2013, 2014, and 2016.
He won his first victory in 2007, the Central Scotland Open, before winning a major title at the World Masters later that year. In the final, he staged an incredible comeback, defeating Darryl Fitton 7-5 after behind 5-2.
