Hungarian Grand Prix. Season 2025.
Circuit: Hungaroring
There is only one race left before the summer break in the Formula 1 World Championship, the Hungarian Grand Prix. The 40th anniversary race at the Hungaroring is ahead of us, on a track that has undergone a significant ‘facelift’ in the past year. The Formula 1 drivers and teams have completed 13 Grand Prix races so far in 2025. They have traveled from one ‘end of the world’ to the other several times, and they have one more stop before going on vacation. Although we have already effectively entered the second half of the World Championship, the first part of the season will officially end with the Hungarian Grand Prix. Then the summer break begins, which will last four weeks, and the season will continue on the last weekend in August with a race weekend in the Netherlands.

If we look back throughout past editions of this race, Lewis Hamilton stands out, having won the Hungaroring eight times. He has 12 podium finishes and nine best starting positions. Michael Schumacher is in second place with four wins and seven pole positions in Hungary, and it is also worth mentioning Kimi Raikkonen, who has the second most podiums with nine. In addition to Hamilton, active drivers who have won at the Hungaroring include Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Max Verstappen, and Oscar Piastri.
Hamilton: I'm useless, let them replace me
Lewis Hamilton believes Ferrari should change drivers after crashing out of qualifying early for the Hungarian Grand Prix, while team-mate Charles Leclerc took pole position in the other Ferrari. The seven-time world champion will start from 12th place for Sunday's race at the Hungaroring, while Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc took pole position on his final lap in Q3. It follows a very disappointing 2025 season for Hamilton, who is sixth in the championship and regularly beaten by current fifth-placed Leclerc. Hamilton, who immediately responded over the team radio by saying "every time, every time", was visibly angry in his post-qualifying interview.
Charles Leclerc fastest in qualifying at the Hungaroring!
So far during the weekend, McLarens have dominated. Untouchable for the rest of the grid in all practice sessions. However, in qualifying we experienced two shocks directed by Ferrari drivers. The first shock was provided by Lewis Hamilton by dropping out in Q2, he will start the race from 12th place. On the other hand, a very positive shock was provided by Charles Leclerc by winning the first pole position for Ferrari this season! Second place was won by Oscar Piastri in McLaren, and third was the other McLaren driver Lando Norris. George Russell in Mercedes will start tomorrow's race in fourth. The third starting row was occupied by Aston Martin drivers, Fernando Alonso is an excellent fifth and Lance Stroll is sixth. Gabriel Bortoleto had another excellent qualifications, and was seventh. Max Verstappen had a disappointing qualifying in Red Bull, who will start tomorrow's race from eighth place. Behind him in ninth and tenth place are Racing Bulls drivers – Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar, respectively.
Expert Betting Tips
Charles Leclerc has taken a surprise pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix ahead of championship leader Oscar Piastri, who blamed a frustrating third qualifying session on a change in wind direction. Leclerc produced a surprise qualifying performance, leaving championship leader Piastre behind him, who will start the race from second position. After McLaren's dominant performance all weekend, with Lando Norris and his teammate swapping the lead in practice, few expected Ferrari to take pole position. Although Piastri was ahead of Norris, Leclerc overtook him with a surprise lap towards the end of the session. However, Piastri after the great performances in Belgium has a chance to improve his championship chances by winning this race, and he has the speed and is in great position to do it.
OUR PREDICTION: Oscar Piastri to win
