Angola vs Namibia Prediction: The Giant Stable will secure their first three points of the tournament

Angola will be hopeful of securing three points when they lock horns with Namibia in their opening COSAFA Cup 2024 games at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday. The tournament is expected to produce some exciting games, and we think this matchup will live up to expectations. 

Angola

The Giant Sable Antelopes have won the COSAFA Cup three times, with silver and bronze. However, they were able to achieve that from 1998-2006. Since then, they have struggled in this competition and failed to reach the knockout stage last year. 

Angola are currently 92nd on the FIFA global rankings and have won once, drawn a game, and lost once in their last three games in this tournament.

Namibia

The Warriors won the title in the year 2015 and were a quarter-finalist in 2018. They are more than determined to win this year's edition, having failed to make it to the knockout stage last campaign. 

They are presently ranked 97th, and they have picked up eight points from a possible twenty-one in the COSAFA tournament since 2021.

Expert Betting Tips

Angola have named a solid team for this year’s tournament, and they look like the real deal on paper. At the same time, Namibia have also called up some decent players who’ll be poised to take the tournament by surprise.

Since it’s too early to tell how strong the teams here are, we’ll base our predictions on the quality of players called up for this competition. Angola league is more competitive than Namibia, and since it’s a competition for locally based teams, we expect Angola to secure the maximum points here.
