Central Cordoba vs Estudiantes Prediction for the Match on November 30 2025

In Santiago del Estero, Central Cordoba host Estudiantes in the quarter-finals of the Torneo Betano Clausura, after the two teams had both scored fine results in the Round of 16. Central Cordoba beat San Lorenzo comfortably in their own house 2-1 and Estudiantes scored one of the surprises of the day by beating Rosario Central in theirs. As the two parties engage each other in competitive terms but with competing playing identities, this is bound to be a tactical knock out match where the intensity prevails, physical confrontations and efficiency in both the boxes.

Central Cordoba goes into the match with the confidence of a 2-1 win over San Lorenzo and this time they managed to give a very impressive showing on the attack. They were efficient and aggressive in terms of transitions, despite having only 37 percent of possession, they created 2.23 xG, had 19 attempts and four big chances. Their current shape has leveled following an indifferent performance at the beginning of the tournament, and they have three victories and a draw in the past five matches. They are a team that give slightly more than they take throughout the season (35 goals conceded, 28 scored), although their home figures have changed considerably in the past one month.Their home matches contain 2.31 goals and 38% clean sheet and 1.06 goals per match. Central Cordoba plays focus much on the direct play, good wide passes and intense duels in the mid field. They make an average of 12 shots per game and most of their goals come late into the games with 59% of their scores coming in the second halves.

The lineup and structure of Central Cordoba should be the same. Their formation is 4-2-3-1 which tends to change to 4-4-2 during out-of-possession. Aguerre is likely to stay in goal, and the defence line will include Abascia and Galvan as the centre-backs, Moyano and Cufre as the flankers. The energy, good tackling and driving forward are created in the midfield by the double pivot of Vera and Bobadilla. Further up the pitch, Perello and Martinez are used as wingers that cut inside to play between the lines, with Zalazar positioned as the central creator that combines rapid attacks and supports the striker. In the lead of the attack, Varaldo is aggressive, physical, pushing and aerial threat, which is an important element of their transitional game.

Central Cordoba starting lineup (4-2-3-1)

Aguerre – Moyano, Abascia, Galvan, Cufre – Vera, Bobadilla – Perello, Zalazar, Martinez – Varaldo

Out: Heredia, Veron (injured)

Head coach: Omar De Felippe

Arguably the best defensive effort of the Round of 16 was delivered by Estudiantes who defeated Rosario Central 1-0 in a game outside their house despite having less than 35% of the possession. Their 0.51 xG was small, though they were small enough, they took in pressure and turned their largest opportunity of the game. They have been performing better in their last five games following a challenging period in the Clausura as they have three out of their four games. Throughout the season, Estudiantes have proven to be a fluctuating team: 11 victories, 9 draws, 13 defeats, 28 goals, and 37 goals against. Their out figures are not so encouraging, though the win over Rosario may be a turning point. Estudiantes have a low goal per away match of 0.76 and a goal per away match of 1.47 with 47 percent of away matches resulting in a loss.Their games have an average of 2.23 overall goals and their defence system varies with the game condition though they are still very dangerous during set ups and transitions.

The projected XI is the one used in the victory over Rosario. Muslera starts in goal. Gomez should play right-back, Gonzalez Pirez and Rodriguez in the middle, and Arzamendia on the left. This defence is more concerned with aerial power and tactical positioning. Ascacibar, who is the experienced player, forms the foundation in the midfield, Piovi and Medina are slightly higher to provide support to press and break line in a vertical movement. Palacios is positioned up front playing as a roaming left sided attacking player who provides width and ball carrying, Cetre Angulo will be an inside right moving forward player connecting the midfield and forward lines. Carrillo will be the likely central striker where he will give hold-up play and presence in the box. Amondarain is a big blow due to the red card.

Estudiantes starting lineup (4-2-3-1)

Muslera – Gomez, Gonzalez Pirez, Rodriguez, Arzamendia – Ascacibar, Piovi – Palacios, Medina, Cetre Angulo – Carrillo

Out: Gabriel Neves, Amondarain (red card)

Head coach: Eduardo Dominguez

The H2H of the clubs is not that lopsided. In their 12 meetings, Estudiantes have won 5 games and Central Cordoba have won 3 games and there are 4 games which have had a draw. The overall number of goals plays in favour of Estudiantes is 15-11. The latest confrontations between them have resulted in narrow victory: 2-1 Estudiantes, 1-1 and 0-0. Matches among these teams are cagey and the goals are only 2.17 with low efficiency of the shots on either sides. However, Form trajectories are now more in favour of Central Cordoba at home where they have won their last three games out of the three against Estudiantes.

  • Under 2 Goals - The two teams lean towards low-scoring matches and their H2H mean is low at 2.17 goals.Estudiantes have a score of less than one per away match. This option is offered on the 1xbet bookmaker website for odds of 1.68;
  • Both Teams to Score - No - At away games, estudiantes can score almost nothing - at home, Central Cordoba can play out of the transition game, and can rarely give up big chances. This option is offered on the Bet365 bookmaker website for odds of 1.60;

This quarter final is played out as an equal tactic battle. At home, Central Cordoba come with more momentum and heavier attacking production. Despite their Round of 16 performances, Estudiantes are still in a tough situation in terms of creating regular opportunities outside La Plata. Due to the trend of matches and their state, a close and hard fought game will be anticipated.
