Lanus vs Sarmiento Junin Prediction: Lanus needs to score some points fast

The third round of the Torneo Betano 2025 features an intriguing contest as Lanús hosts Sarmiento Junín. Surely the two sides will be keen to bounce back after unattractive round results and snatch three valuable points in their season struggles.

Lanus (LL)

In the second round Lanús were beaten 2-1 by Rosario Central, ending goals down thanks once again to defending lapses in the first half. However, Campaz and Malcorra (penalty) struck in the 55th minute and Lanús trailed 2-0 at halftime despite occasionally having more possession (53 percent). In the second half, they were more composed and found the break through Walter Bou in the 84th minute but they had too much wasted attacking efficiency, registering three shots on target of 11 attempts. For them to turn things around, they will have to sharpen their defence and find the striking opportunities they are having.

Sarmiento Junin (DL)

After being frustrated by an attacking inefficiency in a goalless draw with Godoy Cruz, Sarmiento Junín are coming off. Sarmiento continued to create 14 attempts against goal, but failed to get any of them on target, recording a promising xG of 1.55. Defensively, they were solid as they prevented Godoy Cruz from having two shots on target, also controlling 47 percent of possession. The issue for them will be their inability to score from the chances created, also coming up against a Lanús side who have not been reliable at the back.

Expert Betting Tips

Both Lanús and Sarmiento Junín try to get a much needed win in an interesting clash. Sarmiento’s organized defense and attacking intent make them a formidable opponent, given that Lanús have home advantage. Fresh from two clean sheets, Sarmiento’s superb showing the last time out may cancel out Lanús’ home form advantage as their defence has also not been on song. Lanús could just about nick it if they at least improved when it comes to finishing, but a low scoring draw is very much the likely outcome.
