Grêmio vs Atlético-MG Prediction: Grêmio is back home

After 134 days, the Arena do Grêmio can once again host matches, and fans of the Immortal can finally see their club play at home. The weather tragedy that devastated Rio Grande do Sul caused significant damage to the stadiums of the Porto Alegre clubs, so only now is the Arena do Grêmio in condition to reopen. Even so, the stadium is still not 100% functional, and only 12,000 people will be able to attend the match with Atlético Mineiro.

Grêmio climbed to 14th place in the table with 27 points from 22 games. The relegation zone is five points below, so the Gaúchos can't relax and must fight every match. The Rooster beat São Paulo 1-0 at the Morumbi in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals. The goal came in the 92nd minute when Rodrigo Battaglia headed in a free kick from Gustavo Scarpa. The home team had several chances to score during the game but were ineffective. If the Miners win the Copa do Brasil, they will qualify for the Copa Libertadores, but the same will happen if they finish in the top six in the league. Atlético is currently in eighth place with 30 points from 22 games.

After four months, Grêmio will finally play at home again and will want to give its fans a victory. The Gaúchos won away in the previous round, so they're confident. Atlético Mineiro is equally motivated after winning on the road against São Paulo in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals. The result was excellent, but the players will probably feel a little tired in Porto Alegre. I'm betting on a Double Chance in favor of Grêmio with a maximum of three goals scored in the game.
