Mali colossus AS Real Bamako will square off with Accra Hearts of Oak at the Stade Modibo Keita. The home side are a familiar team in the competition. The winner of this contest will have to clear another hurdle before making it to the group stage.

AS Real Bamako (Mali)

The Malian side eliminated the Burkina Faso side a few weeks ago. The first leg ended in a toothless draw, while the return leg replicates the previous. The game was dragged into extra time as Real Bamako progressed on penalties after winning (3-1).

The Malian football club wrapped up the season in 5th place, having gone thirty-four games with forty-eight points.

Accra Hearts Oak (Ghana)

The Phobia Boys didn’t live up to expectations last season when they finished in 6th place. A year before last, they were crowned the champions and went ahead selling their star men.

The Ghanaian side were given a bye in the first preliminary round and will be fully focused on the encounter. Accra Hearts of Oak last appearance was in 2004 when they won the title.
