Since August last year, Grêmio hadn't gone two games in a row without conceding a goal in the Série A. Renato Portaluppi has fine-tuned the team's defensive strategy, bringing the players closer together, joining the lines of the sectors and pressing the opponents when they have possession. The Brazilians need to pick up a point in Argentina and, if possible, get the three points they desperately need. It's a crucial game for Grêmio, currently bottom of Group C.

Estudiantes is going through a moment of great confidence, so it won't be easy for Grêmio to secure a point. The Brazilians are under pressure as they are bottom of Group C with zero points.
