Coventry City returned to Championship action in impressive fashion after the international break, securing a comfortable victory over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium on Good Friday. Ellis Simms scored twice in the first half to give the Sky Blues a two-goal lead before Haji Wright sealed the win with a goal in added time, despite Rhys Healey scoring for the Terriers.

With an upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United to look forward to, Coventry City is in good form having won their last four matches. Mark Robins's side is now aiming for a fifth consecutive victory, currently sitting in seventh place in the Championship. The departure of Viktor Gyokeres in the summer impacted their early-season form, but Wright and Simms have stepped up to fill the goalscoring void, both aiming for 20-goal seasons.

Coventry City has been particularly strong at home, winning their last four matches at the CBS Arena with an impressive goal difference of 16-2. This includes dominant wins over Maidstone United and Rotherham United.

Collins; Latibeaudiere, Thomas, Kitching; Van Ewijk, Eccles, Sheaf, Bidwell; Palmer, Wright, Simms

After suffering a devastating defeat to Poland in the Euro 2024 playoff final, Wales faced more disappointment on Good Friday as Cardiff lost 2-0 to Sunderland. Adil Aouchiche scored his second goal of the Championship season from the penalty spot to give Sunderland the lead within the first 15 minutes, with Jobe Bellingham adding a second before the half-hour mark. Cardiff, who had previously enjoyed four consecutive wins, have now suffered back-to-back losses on either side of the international break, effectively ending their chances of a top-six finish. With uncertainty surrounding his future, Cardiff manager Erol Bulut is facing increasing pressure as his one-year contract nears its end. The Bluebirds will now aim to defeat Coventry City following their previous victory in September.

Horvath; Ng, Goutas, Phillips, Wilson-Esbrand; Ralls, Bowler, Ramsey, O'Dowda; Diedhiou, Robinson

Coventry has adjusted well to playing without Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, who is out for the rest of the season with a back injury. The team is dealing with injuries to Jamie Allen as well, so Ben Sheaf and Josh Eccles are likely to continue in midfield. Kasey Palmer has been in excellent form recently, earning a starting spot over Callum O'Hare. Without Mark McGuinness, Cardiff has struggled defensively in their last few games. Aaron Ramsey may be in line for a starting spot after coming off the bench in the previous match. Coventry could make changes in attack to improve their goal-scoring abilities, with Famara Diedhiou and Callum Robinson pushing for inclusion. Possible starting lineups for both teams are given. Coventry are in good form and should be confident going into their match against Cardiff. With Cardiff struggling and uncertainty surrounding their manager, a defeat for the visiting team is anticipated on Easter Monday.
