Luton Town vs Watford Prediction: Watford aiming for top six

Luton Town is set to host Watford at Kenilworth Road Stadium in Game Week 10 of the English Championship. Watford would hope to claim a place in the top six when they play Luton Town. Who will leave with a win after the full time of the match?

Rob Edwards was witnessed to have built enough credit in the bank after steering Luton to a decent first-ever season in the Premier League. His team has, however, collected just eight points from their opening nine games, and that has put the head coach under pressure. After starting on a promising note with back-to-back wins over Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday, Luton has gathered only one point from the last three games. While a loss to Sheffield United was not all that surprising, the setbacks against Plymouth Argyle and allowing a two-goal advantage slip away against Oxford United most definitely were. It's only three points shy of 14th place since Edwards arrived at Luton Town, and a victory over his old team on Saturday would not be without its significance. Of course he is also aware that another loss could bring upon some wrath from the fans.

It is probably fair to say Tom Cleverley has had a ball so far this campaign, with Watford perhaps finally proving correct his pre-season prediction of a promotion contender at least by gaining suddenly 16 points from their first nine games on the hop.

The Hornets have suffered three now successive away away defeats, but Cleverley would have been happy with this tally early in the season. On the other hand, Watford has been outstanding at their ground with four wins and one draw from their five home games. They are three points behind the leading team; hence they will have an opportunity to join the title race if they keep their winning trend.

Luton Town vs Watford Expert Predictions

Mark McGuinness injured with Republic of Ireland and Tom Holmes could come in at centre half if Mads Andersen isn't fit. Jacob Brown might come into the side for an attack depending on whether Edwards plays Victor Moses out on the wing or up front. Liam Walsh remains suspended for another game after being sent off against Oxford. Substitutes Edo Kayembe and Kwadwo Baah are competing for a starting place at Watford in the wake of their effort on the pitch at Middlesbrough. Moussa Sissoko and Tom Ince may be omitted because of Cleverley's intention to snap off poor form outside their home. Vakoun Bayo may receive the nod ahead of Daniel Jebbison as the case of forward starts. Away form: Of course, Watford have done well beginning their tenure under Cleverley but that is as far as it goes. This might be of special advantage to Luton as they might emerge winners with a narrow margin, but it can be the beginning of something good to their season and ease off the pressure from the bench on manager Edwards.
