Things may have been written all over Pelach's face following back-to-back losses to Hull City and Middlesbrough. A convincing win against Portsmouth came at the right time for him in his quest to convince fans who were heaved with disappointment following Steven Schumacher's departure from the club. The performance at six goals against Pompey had helped Stoke well out of a problematic sequence of results, and a goalless draw against Swansea City brought relief too, having been their first clean sheet in five Championship games. Though they have lost the golden opportunity to obtain maximum points for the Swansea Match, Stoke is only six points away from achieving the playoff spot, and hence great hopes exist that Pelach can focus on reducing the stress of relegation fears.

Of course, this cannot be said to be a fruit of Pelach's departure from the club, but Norwich head coach Johannes Hoff Thorup would be pretty pleased to see how his players have digested the changes that have occurred with the technical bench. Norwich has conceded just one game in their last eight league games and is four points behind league leaders Sunderland even though they have managed only four in their last four away games.

Sam Gallagher is absent to play as Stoke forces a change that sees youngster Emre Tezgel play up-front for the manager Pelach. The other more central attacking option Pelach has could be Andre Vidigal or Million Manhoef since Lewis Koumas is away with Wales for international duty. Ben Pearson and Lynden Gooch are not ready to play yet.

Angus Gunn of Norwich City has taken a blow from a rib injury, meaning George Long would come in to potentially fill in at the bet365 Stadium. If Marcelino Nunez does not make it, then Emiliano Marcondes and Amankwah Forson would be expected to get drafted into midfield, with Kaide Gordon most likely to be included on the bench.
