Chelsea bounced back emphatically at Lincoln Financial Stadium against ES Tunis, thrashing their opponents 3-0 with strikes from new signing Delap, Tyrique George, and Adarabioyo. Their round of 16 clash against Benfica was filled with emotions. Chelsea took the lead through a direct free kick from Reece James in the 64th minute, but Benfica got an equalizer just a few minutes after the restart of the game, after a 2-hour suspension due to the weather conditions. Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, and Dewsbury-Hall scored goals in the second half of extra time to give Chelsea the all-important 1-4 win. 

Chelsea now face a Palmeiras team that has not lost a game in the Club World Cup, and this appears to be one of their biggest tasks ever in the competition. A victory here will take them to face either Fluminense or Al-Hilal in the semifinals.
