Guinea vs Mozambique Prediction: A tight game is expected

Guinea vs Mozambique will square it off at the Ben M’Hamed El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida in this World Cup qualifier. Which side wins here?

Guinea

Guinea will be confident of securing another win following a 1-2 win over Algeria last week. In that game, Morlaye Sylla put Guinea in the lead, but an own goal by Yasser Balde saw Algeria leveled just two minutes later. However, the 63rd-minute strike by Aguibou Camara was all Guinea needed to take maximum points on the road. Heading into this encounter, Guinea have won four of their last five matches, with their lone defeat being against D.R Congo in an AFCON encounter.

Mozambique

Mozambique will have confidence in making consecutive wins following a 2-1 win over Somalia. In that game, Alfons Amade and Stanley Ratifo both scored for Mozambique. In the meantime, prior encounters to that win saw this team play four consecutive games without a win, losing to Cape Verde in one of the encounters. Moreover, they picked a point in their game against Ghana, Egypt, and Botswana. In the World Cup qualifier, Mozambique picked up 6 points from three games, scoring five and conceding five goals.

Following a strong performance against Algeria last time out, I do not expect anything but a win for Guinea. However, Mozambique have been a tough side in this qualifier, and it is tough to write off, with two wins already in three matches. Therefore, while Mozambique have notched 5 goals in three games, I expect them to be able to score here, too, but a bet on the hosts to win is the best option.
