Ghana vs Nigeria Prediction: A must-watch encounter

Ghana and Nigeria will battle it out in the African Nations Championship at Accra Sports Stadium. The last meeting between the two teams ended in favour of Nigeria. Can Ghana get things right in this one? Below, I give a preview of this game and provide betting opportunities. 

Ghana

Ghana's last friendly encounter was against Togo, and they won. In a game that ended 0-2, Albert Amoah and Issah Yakubu's strike were enough to seal a win for them. In the meantime, the prior encounter to that win saw Ghana go winless in six matches. In that run, this team lost to Angola, Sudan and Niger. In fact, their best results were draws against Niger, Sudan and Angola. In their last three matches at home, Ghana have no wins, losing two and drawing one. 

Nigeria

Nigeria's last encounter was against Rwanda, and they lost. In a game that ended 1-2, Nigeria went from being ahead with Samuel Chukwueze’s strike to losing. However, Nigeria went unbeaten in five matches prior to that defeat. In that run, they defeated Libya and Benin while drawing Rwanda. Away from home, Nigeria have an unbeaten run of three matches while winning only once. In that run, the visiting team scored four goals while conceding five. 

Expert Betting Tips

The matches between these two teams have always been competitive and close, and I expect a similar outcome. Ghana has had a rough path lately, but they will field this game with the best players available. However, Nigeria's inconsistent play will be a huge problem. I feel this will be a very close game, and I expect an improved level of play from the two teams offensively. Ghana at home should get a win, but I am sure Nigeria will not disappoint in the front of the goal.
