The bad news was compounded by fatigue after the Europa League clash with Sevilla knocked the Turin side out of contention. The result was a 1:4. A resounding defeat for Juventus at the hands of the Serie A underdogs and unequivocally their worst game of the season. Max Allegri's side dropped to seventh position in the table and can only hope to progress into the top four if they can beat AC Milan in their next game.
Milan
After Juve lost ten points, Milan has risen to the top four and is now closing in on the Champions League competitions with a handicap of three points from their nearest pursuer, Atalanta.
In the previous fixture, they beat the weakest side in the league, Sampdoria, to snap their streak of three defeats in a row. Rafael Leao, Brahim Dias, and Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick in a 5:1 win at home to Sampdoria. Suppose AC Milan stays in the top four at the end of the domestic league season. In that case, it will be fair to describe their season as a success, including qualifying for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
