Libya vs Benin Republic Prediction: The Mediterranean Knights will have to try again next time

The stage is set for one of the toughest group games as Libya must win and score more than a goal when they host Benin Republic to stand a chance of qualifying for AFCON 25 in Morocco. The group became more complicated when Libya stunned Rwanda a few days ago, and they have a stern test against their guests who need just a point here to book their AFCON place.

The Mediterranean Knights dropped one of the most shocking results of the round, defeating Rwanda on the road. Libya, who were below par, stunned their opponent when Fahad Al Mesmari scored in the 84th minute to cart away the maximum points. The result cut the group open, even though it’s almost certain they are out of the competition. 

Milutin Sredojevic men have picked up four points from a combined total of fifteen, scoring three and conceding four. 

Libya haven’t played in the AFCON since 2012, and it seems the Mediterranean Knights are out of next season's edition of the AFCON Tournament. 

Benin Republic

The Cheetahs played their cards right against a star-studded opponent on their home turf, sharing the spoils against Nigeria. Benin Republic found the back of the net in the 16th minute and was thinking about securing the maximum points until Nigeria leveled in the 81st minute. The Benin Republic must now secure at least a point here to stand a chance of advancing to the next round. Benin Republic dropped six places off on the latest FIFA Ranking after their defeat against Rwanda in Kigali.

Gernot Rohr's men have picked up seven points from a combined fifteen, scoring seven and conceding seven. 

Expert Betting Tips

Libya, who scored first in the reverse leg, lost the game (2-1) against Benin Republic. Libya are not in the race to make it out of the group despite their recent win as they’ll have to score five unanswered goals against Benin Republic. It’s definitely impossible to do that, considering their recent run, and we think the best viable option here is a share of the spoils. However, Benin Republic side to me seem to be more likely to secure all the points here, so we are backing them to win or draw and score more than a goal for 2.26.

Libya will definitely not sit back and absorb pressure, and I feel they'll get a goal, at least here.

With the way Benin Republic played against Nigeria, I think they’ll get a goal before the break for 2.42.
