Manchester City vs Chelsea Prediction: Both finishing their pre-season preparations

Manchester City will take on Chelsea at Ohio Stadium in the Club Friendlies. Both teams are finishing their pre-season preparations. Who will get the better of the two after 90 minutes?

The results and performances, though, have probably fallen below the expectations of Guardiola as much as it is hard to draw definitive conclusions from Manchester City's pre-season, considering that the majority of key players are still away on international duties.

They English champions, who ended last season's campaign with a 2-1 defeat by Manchester United in the FA Cup final, opened their pre-season with a 4-3 defeat by Celtic before losing 3-2 in their second tour match against AC Milan.

Manchester City had to draw 2-2 with Barcelona on Tuesday before losing 4-1 on penalties. There were more positive performances to come out of the match as both Nico O'Reilly and Jack Grealish scored in the fixture.

Guardiola's men will round off their tour of the US against Chelsea, before heading back to England to prepare for the Community Shield a week prior to the Premier League season, where Manchester United make up the opposition on August 10.

Their Premier League title defense will start on August 18 with a visit to Chelsea. The matchup against Chelsea is only an opening of what would prove to be an exciting game.

Chelsea kicked off their preseason with a 2-2 draw against Wrexham and then lost a second match of their US tour 4-1 to Celtic, but the Blues won 3-0 against Club America on Wednesday. Christopher Nkunku, Marc Guiu, and Noni Madueke all scored in the comfortable victory.

Enzo Maresca's men will now add two more matches in the United States—one against Real Madrid on August 6 and lastly, Inter Milan on August 11, back home in England.

Chelsea, who kick off their new league season against Manchester City, will be playing in the Conference League, which assures them of some European football next term at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have been pretty active in the transfer window and have signed another player in Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal. Their most expensive signing remains Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City.
