National Bank of Egypt vs Al Ahly SC Prediction: The Red Devils can’t afford to drop points in back-to-back matches

National Bank of Egypt will face off against Al Ahly at the Borg El Arab Stadium on Sunday. The hosts, who have been unlucky with fixtures this season, will play their third big side in just four matches. It’s a delicate game for the hosts, who’d not like to go toe-to-toe against an Al Ahly team who lost two points on their home turf a few days ago and plans to flip the script here.

Tarek Moustafa's men lost their second game of the season, conceding three times against Pyramids on the road. Despite scoring first and leading at the break, National Bank of Egypt were outmuscled by their opponent, who were all over the pitch in the second half. This was after they shared the spoils on their home turf against Pharco and lost (2-3) away to Zamalek. National Bank of Egypt have not been favored with their fixtures, having already played Zamalek, Pyramids, and now Al Ahly.

Al Ahly SC

The Red Devils settled for a share of the spoils on their home turf against Al Ittihad in the third game of the season. The hosts who were presented with the opportunity to take the lead at the break, but Emam Ashour failed to convert the penalty. After the break, Al Ahly were given another chance to draw the first blood; this time, Amir El Solia stepped up and converted the spot-kick. However, the guests leveled minutes later to split points away from home. It was a terrible performance and a below-par defensive display from the best team in Africa.

Just like big teams do, Al Ahly bounced back in the continental tournament, scoring four and conceding twice against Stad Abidjan on their home turf. 

The Red Devils have picked up seven points from a combined nine, scoring seven and conceding three. Al Ahly have won their only game on the road this campaign. 

Expert Betting Tips

Over their previous nine games, Al Ahly have won four while National Bank of Egypt have managed a win and four games ending in a deadlock. National Bank of Egypt are yet to find their rhythm in this campaign and I feel there is more to this side than the results they have produced so far. They’re one of my favorites in the division, but they are the underdog in this particular fixture.

Al Ahly will be without their captain and best player, Emam Ashour who has been fined £1M by the management for his misconduct in their last game against Al Ittihad. It won’t be a major loss as the Red Devils boost one of the strongest teams in the continent. 

I’m backing the guests to win here and score more than a goal just because the hosts are also capable of finding the back of the net.

I also think this game will produce a BTTS for 2.00.

I’m expecting the guests to score before the break for 2.05.
