Rivers United vs Remo Stars Prediction: The Pride of Rivers can’t afford to lose at home

On Thursday, Rivers United will face off against Remo Stars at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. The Pride of Rivers head here following their defeat on the road against Niger Tornadoes, while the Sky Blue Stars will be hopeful of winning back-to-back games.

The Pride of Rivers began their league campaign with a disappointing result against Niger Tornadoes on the road. Bashir Usman's early goal in the 6th minute was all that was required to secure his side a much-deserved victory, while Rivers State felt disappointed after losing for the first time in four years against the home team.

Rivers United are unbeaten at home since 2022, and, certainly, they won’t lose here.

Remo Stars

The Sky Blue Stars commenced the season with a (2-1) victory over Enugu Rangers at home. After going down in the first eight minutes of the match, Oluwasegun Ogunribide leveled for the former NPFL champions just before the break. Alimi Sikiru doubled their score in the 53rd minute to hand his side their first victory of the season.

Remo Stars played their first league game since their elimination in the CAF Confederation Cup by Medeama. The Ogun state-based team had a tremendous season when they finished in the third spot last campaign.

Remo Stars are unbeaten in their previous four meetings on the road.

Expert Betting Tips

Rivers United are yet to taste defeat against Remo Stars in their previous eight meetings. Rivers United were not bad against Niger Tornadoes and deserved a point, at least. On the other hand, Remo Stars returned from a goal down to secure the maximum points in their opening league game. Both sides' recent meeting ended in a share of the spoils, but we expect a winner to emerge here. Rivers United will strive to get a home win here, but we’re not sure they’ll keep a clean sheet; bet on a home win for 1.80.
