PAOK vs AEK Athens Prediction: PAOK are in crisis

One of the biggest Greek derbies will be played this Sunday in Thessaloniki when PAOK will welcome AEK Athens. Both teams are in the title race, and both of them showed some great performances this season, but I have a feeling that these teams are not on the same level as Olympiakos and Panathinaikos this season. Lovren and Zivkovic are injured and will certainly not play, while Gomez is doubtful. PAOK lost in the Europa League last week against Real Sociedad but managed to qualify for the playoffs, which was their main objective this season. In the league, they are in fourth place with seven points less than Olympiakos and are losing the pace with them in the title race. I expect another difficult match for them in their stadium, and I can’t see them winning against AEK.

They aren’t too convincing in the big derbies in Greece this season, in their last derby they were defeated by Panathinaikos away 1:0, and in the last round they won 1:0 at home against Panetolikos, but their performances were poor. Callens is still doubtful for this match, the others are ready but I don’t think that AEK will play in their most offensive formation as they often do, and their main goal in this match is to remain undefeated.
