Before the start of the season, the team played seven friendlies, two of which they won with three draws and two defeats from Inter Milan and Como. The team has a new head coach; since the first of July, they  have been coached by 45-year-old Spaniard Luis Miguel Carrión. In the first round, Leganes and the Canaries played a draw on their own field against Sevilla. The score was 2:2, with Ramirez scoring for the team and Kouassi scoring an automobile.

Las Palmas is primarily a home team, away results have always been worse. Leganes showed themselves well in the first round in Pamplona and if the future hosts will play the same way as against Osasuna, then surely, at least, will not lose, we would not be surprised if they pick up full three points. As for the total, we doubt that the match will be rich in goals, it may well happen that the fate of the meeting will be decided by just one goal.
