At the same time, they have failed to make their mark on the international stage. In their five previous outings, Roman Pilipchuk's men managed just one point, a 1:1 draw with Servette, and lost their other four matches by a combined score of 4:13. Those results meant the Moldovans finished bottom of Group G.
