The Kazakh national team, now under the guidance of former Russian national team coach Stanislav Cherchesov, is still finding its rhythm. Before that, though, Slovenia hadn't lost in regulation time for 12 games, including the opening rounds of the Nations League in September. Slovenia drew 1:1 with Norway at home and then beat Kazakhstan 3:0 at home.
