The United States

The United States is gradually becoming one of the favorites. Before the tournament, it was unlikely that the Americans could not be such contenders, as they again brought a modest squad. The Czech Republic

The Czech Republic was rather disappointing at the World Cup, although expectations for their performance were very high. Years earlier, they had reached the top three for the first time in a decade. One would have expected further progress in the second year of Kari Jalonen's tenure with the national team. Nevertheless, they failed all their games to solid teams in the group stage - to Switzerland, 2-4, Canada, 1-3, and Latvia, 3-4.
