For the Islanders, the last few seasons have been uneventful. Just a few years ago, the Islanders were among the top contenders for the Stanley Cup. In the offseason, the New York team refused to make major personnel changes, believing in the existing core of the roster. Arizona is a traditional outsider of the league, which rarely enters the fight for the playoffs. Last season was no exception.
