Myktybek Orolbai vs Elves Brener Prediction: the Bout Will End Early

On the night of May 5th, Brazil will be hosting UFC 301. One of the preliminary bouts will see Kyrgyzstan's Myktybek Orolbai going up against Brazilian Elves Brener. The fight will be in the lightweight category.

Myktybek Orolbai, a discovery of the UFC matchmakers (rumor has it that Dana White personally scouted him) from the American league LFA, is a force to be reckoned with. With a perfect record of three wins, including a viral knockout, he has earned his place in the UFC, becoming the first ethnic representative of Kyrgyzstan in the league. He made his UFC debut on short notice, but that didn't affect him. In his fight with Uros Medic, Orolbai focused on wrestling and finished the opponent with a submission. 

Orolbai is a great finisher and versatile, too. He wins by knockout and submission. Only one of his wins went to a judge's decision. Interestingly, the only loss he suffered wasn't in any place but in the Russian ACA Young Eagles league in 2020. Khalid Satuev defeated him on points. But after that setback, Myktybek improved with seven straight wins.

Elves Brener

Elves Brener isn't one of the top fighters, but he's pretty dangerous. He's well known to MMA fans as not so long ago, he defeated Zubaira Tukhugov by split decision and knocked out Guram Kutateladze. The Brazilian currently rides a five-fight winning streak, with three wins coming in the UFC and the last two being early.

With both fighters riding high on their winning streaks and a history of finishing opponents, the bout promises to be a nail-biter. Considering the odds, Myktybek is the favorite. His recent victories are impressive, and Brener is a convenient opponent - he is physically weaker, so he won't be able to dominate and even resist in the parterre), and he has no options on the feet.
