Roman Dolidze started out in martial arts with wrestling and jiu-jitsu, and even won world and European championships in grappling. He had his first pro MMA fight in 2016, became the Ukrainian WWFC league champion in 2018, and made his UFC debut in 2020 with a KO victory over Khadis Ibragimov. Dolidze is gradually but surely climbing the rankings and has been fighting at the top for years. He's won his last three fights, and the guys he beat in this series are pretty impressive: So, we've got Anthony Smith, Kevin Holland and Marvin Vettori.
I think both Hernandez and I deserve more serious fights – at least someone from the top 5. But hey, that's just how we roll. We don't back down. I'm ready for anything. The problem with Hernandez is his style: he likes to wrestle. He's not had much luck in the first couple of rounds, but when his opponents get tired, he keeps on fighting. He's a great fighter, but I've got good jiu-jitsu and I'm ready for anything on the ground. I'm not afraid to fight him, so I don't think he'll cause me much trouble on the ground.
Anthony Hernandez
Anthony Hernandez is a basic wrestler and former LFA champion. He's been in the UFC since 2019 and has won his last seven fights, which is the second-longest winning streak in the middleweight division (after Dricus du Plessis's streak). In his last fight, he beat Brendan Allen by decision, and before that he finished Michel Pereira, Roman Kopylov, Edmen Shahbazyan, and Marc-Andre Barriault.
Roman Dolidze vs Anthony Hernandez Match Prediction August 10, 2025
Dolidze is a fighter who likes to keep things interesting, with his speed and ability to keep his opponent on their toes being right up there. He can take any trained and technical fighter to the limit because he can come up with solutions to his random attacks on the spot, basically by intuition, which you can't really practise in training.
But it's pretty easy to see what Hernandez is going to do in this fight: he'll probably keep going and look for takedowns. The American is a jiu-jitsu fighter, an elite one, of course, but the Georgian's wrestling skills are pretty good too, and he's also learned to mix striking and ground work, which we think will give him the edge.
