Colombian tennis player Maria Camila Osorio Serrano has continued to fight to keep her place in the Paris Olympics. And she’s been rewarded with yet another opportunity to compete in the round of 16 stage. Despite ranking 83rd on the WTA ranking, she’s been able to defeat opponents higher on the WTA ranking.
Maria Camila had a strong start to the campaign and she recorded her first win over Jelena Ostapenko (WTA 11), she won the match in straight sets (4-6,3-6). Then she advanced into the second round and she faced Dayana Yastremska and she won again in straight sets by a 7-6,6-4 score.

Danielle Collins is also back in action again as she will compete in the round of 16 stage in the Paris Olympics. Danielle is a top 10 player at the moment and there’s a huge expectation on her shoulders to impress in the tournament, especially against lower ranking players like Maria Camila Osorio Serrano.
Danielle Collins was drawn against Laura Siegemund in the opening round and she was only able to win the first set before Laura called in an early retirement, giving Danielle passage into the next round automatically. Then she progressed into the second round and there she faced Caroline Wozniacki. The match was tough but Danielle emerged winner in 3 sets (3-6,6-3,3-6).
