World number eight Mark Allen took the next two frames, including a 56-point break in the fourth, to lead 3-1 at the mid-session interval. Brown, making his first quarter-final appearance in nearly two years, stayed in the fight by making a 120 break to close the gap to 3-2. However, Allen responded with a 65 break in frame six, despite Brown having a chance to counter. Allen then made a 71 in frame seven to seal a 5-2 win and move on in the £550,400 World Ranking event. Allen stays on track for his third Northern Ireland Open title after winning the last two in 2021 and 2022. At 39 years old, he also remains unbeaten in this season’s Home Nations Series, having won the English Open last month. With 10 straight wins on the circuit, he’s in top form. Mark Allen is on fire, but let’s not forget about Judd Trump lurking in the background. One mistake and everything could change in an instant. Just ask anyone who’s played pool after a few drinks.

Mark Allen has already beaten both Stuart Bingham and Ding Junhui in close 4–3 matches. He is now just one win away from winning the trophy, thanks to all the momentum he has. Jordan Brown stuns former world champion to set up NI Open last-eight clash with close friend Mark Allen.

Neil Robertson won a tough 6-4 match against John Higgins to reach the semi-finals of the Champion of Champions in Leicester. The game was close early on, with both players exchanging high breaks. Robertson made breaks of 83 and 127, while Higgins responded with runs of 91 and 81, leaving the first four frames tied. But Robertson took control with two impressive breaks of 115 and 64, leading 4-2. Although Higgins fought back with breaks of 86 and 79, Robertson sealed the win by taking the eighth frame and finishing with a solid 63, helped by an excellent long red in the 10th frame. Next, Robertson will face another four-time world champion, Mark Selby, in the semi-finals on Saturday. Earlier in the tournament, Robertson had beaten Tom Ford 4-1, and Higgins overcame Xiao Guodong 4-3. On Friday, world number one Judd Trump will take on reigning world champion Zhao Xintong in an exciting semi-final matchup.

Neil Robertson will now attempt to make amends for his mistakes and subpar performance in this match against Stuart Bingham. He goes into this match hoping to overturn the poor performance he had recently against Joe O'Connor (0-3), Judd Trump (3-0) and Tom Ford (3-0).

  • Mark Allen crashes out of the NI Open in a dramatic seven-frame defeat to Oliver Lines. In 2024, Neil Robertson beat Oliver Lines by 4 frames to 1. Mark Allen is happy with his triumph at the English Open, but less pleased with the prize money.
  • Neil Robertson compiled breaks of 70, 111, 83, and 137 as he defeated Mark Selby 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters. It is the second year in a row that Robertson has eliminated Selby from this competition.
  • One of the few titles that Neil Robertson doesn't have on his CV, the Australian is into the last 16 of the 2025 International Championship after a 6-3 win over Yuan Sijun. The two-time runner-up top scored with a 112 in the opening frame.

Mark Allen just can't seem to get things going at the moment. Breaking down when the frame is at his mercy. He has slated the atmosphere in Saudi Arabian events as he prepares to defend his Riyadh Season Snooker Championship title this week. Mark Allen is one of the strongest names in snooker worldwide, a player distinguished by his consistency, focus, and playing style that always keeps him in the spotlight.Making his Riyadh Season Snooker Championship debut, Neil Robertson hit breaks of 100, 133, 88 and 76 as he defeated Kyren Wilson 4-0 to reach Friday's semi-finals. 45 minutes were enough for Robertson to dominate the Game. It’s a close call, but I’m picking Neil Robertson to come out on top.
