Daria Kasatkina, the third seed, will face Czech qualifier Linda Noskova in the first round of the 2023 Adelaide International on Monday, January 2.

Daria Kasatkina, the third seed, is coming off a fantastic 2022 season. She is now ranked No. 8 in the world, a career high, and hopes to advance farther this year.
She finished the previous tour with a 41-22 record, winning two singles titles along the way. The 25-year-old Russian also made her first Grand Slam semifinal in Paris, as well as the same level at the Italian Open.
Needless to say, Kasatkina has had a season full of personal bests. She will now try to build more bricks on top of the foundation she has created so well. She finished the circuit with a group stage performance at the WTA Finals.
Daria is in the same bracket as Ons Jabeur, Victoria Azarenka, and Anett Kontaveit at Adelaide International 1. She is no stranger to taking on the big guns and is a player to keep an eye on this week.
Linda Noskova
Linda Noskova, 18, is ready to take on the WTA Tour's big guns. She made her tour debut last year, becoming the youngest player to enter the top 100 since Coco Gauff. Her career highlights include two ITF victories, including the $100,000 Reinert Open.
Following her victory in Germany, Noskova advanced to the semifinals of the Prague Open, where she defeated experienced Frenchwoman Alize Cornet in three sets.
The Czech is presently rated #102 and competed as a qualifier in Adelaide. In the opening match, she defeated Anna Kalinskaya in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6. (7). In the following match, she defeated Anastasia Potapova in straight sets.
Linda is clearly a promising player and a possible dark horse.

This is one of those matches when Noskova should be backed. While Kasatkina will start as the favorite, the kid is expected to put up a strong fight and give her opponent a run for her money. Expect an exciting event.
