Iga Swiatek and Beatriz Haddad Maia will face each other for the first time on the Tour in the third round of the 2022 Canadian Open.

Iga Swiatek, the current world number one, will play Beatriz Haddad Maia in the third round of the Canadian Open on Thursday.
With six trophies under her belt and 49 victories out of 54 matches, Swiatek has enjoyed an exceptional season thus far. The Pole won the French Open and four WTA 1000 championships during a 37-match winning streak. Alize Cornet ultimately ended the streak for the 21-year-old in Wimbledon's third round.
She then participated in the Poland Open in Warsaw, where she advanced to the quarterfinals but lost to eventual champion Caroline Garcia. The top seed in the Canadian Open, Swiatek, defeated Ajla Tomljanovic in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, securing her spot in the round of 16.
Beatriz Haddad Maia
Haddad Maia has improved her rating from 83 to 24 by winning 24 of her first 37 games this season. During the grasscourt season, the Brazilian was undefeated, taking home victories in Nottingham and Birmingham.
She was eliminated in the first round at Wimbledon, though, after falling to Kaja Juvan. Haddad Maia was then eliminated in the first round of the Silicon Valley Classic.
She defeated Martina Trevisan in the Canadian Open 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 to get to the second round, where she defeated 13th seed Leylah Fernandez 7-6(4), 6-1.
Expert Betting Tips
Haddad Maia will try to maximise her powerful serving and forehand strokes. The Brazilian has to control his unforced errors when facing Swiatek after making eleven in two matches at the Canadian Open.
Presently, the Pole appears to be in control and should have no issue defeating Haddad Maia.
