The United States opened their campaign in the United Cup against the Czech Republic. Except for Jessica Pegula's 6-7(6), 4-6 loss against Petra Kvitova, the rest of the matches proceeded easily, and Team America grabbed a comfortable 4-1 lead in Group C.

Two ITF championships in Austria and a quarterfinal appearance in the Stuttgart Open are among her career achievements. Laura did, however, win three doubles trophies to compensate for her disappointing season.
