In the second semifinal of Roland Garros 2022, world No. 8 Casper Ruud will face world No. 23 Marin Cilic. They played each other twice, on clay and hard court, and both matches ended in favor of the Norwegian, 2-0 and 2-1, respectively.

Casper Ruud has a nine-match winning streak, which lasts since the tournament in Geneva. In Switzerland Casper defeated Sousa in the final, in Paris he knocked out Tsonga, Ruusuvuori, Sonego, Hurkacz and Rune. Overall, we can't say he had an easy path to the semifinals, not at all. Even the first match against Tsonga was emotional, because the Frenchman was going to end his professional tennis career, which means he decided to give a real fight to the current world No. 8, and he did. All in all, Kasper lost five sets in Paris. Still, the Norwegian looked lively in the match against Rune, so there's no doubt about Ruud's form.

Cilic dropped out in the second round of Madrid, losing to Zverev, and lost to Garin in the third round of Rome. But in Paris the Croatian made it to the sixth round, knocking out Balash, Fucsovics, Simon, Medvedev and Rublev. The Balkan has only given three sets at the tournament so far - to Fucsovics and two more sets to Rublev. We expect that Cilic will fight the Norwegian, but we doubt that he can win.
