Daniil Medvedev
So far, Daniil is on schedule: two confident victories in three sets in the two opening matches of the U.S. Open. First, he quickly dealt with the American Kozlov, then with the Frenchman Rinderknech. The game against the latter lasted two hours and 13 minutes, 6:2, 7:5, and 6:3, which was the match's score. During the game, the first racket of the world made eight aces and once dealt a double fault. Medvedev won 76% of his first serve and 68% of his second. On the receiving end, Medvedev had 35%/59%, 34/20 winners/unforced errors.
Medvedev plays well, has a little slump in the middle of the game. But other than that, he's good. Potential matchup with Kyrgios? Nick can beat anybody. He serves very well, even more so on hard. Very difficult opponent. Nick lacks stability. Daniil will have to prepare for him properly.
Yibing Wu
We'll see the 22-year-old rising star of China and world tennis. The guy in 2022 won four tournaments in the US, though not ATP level, but still. Before US Open qualifying, he had a 10-match winning streak, which has been stretched to 15 matches in a row. That is impressive. Wu Yibing knocked out Berankis, Travaglia, and Moutet from the US Open qualifiers. In the main draw, he defeated Basilashvili and Borges. In general, the rival is not as easy as he seems. Although he is ranked 174th in the world, it is already clear that the Chinese will move up in the ATP list after this week.
Expert Betting Tips
Daniil is slowly improving, but against two latest opponents, Medvedev failed in one set. He wasn't entirely concentrated the whole game, which is not easy when you outclass everyone and have a sense of imminent victory. We expect the same thing from the upcoming game. The Chinese player is highly motivated. He's at the peak of his form, proved by his results. There is no doubt that Medvedev will make it to the last 16, but it is unlikely that the meeting will be short.
