Ilya Ivashka has had a difficult time on the tennis court. He has 18 victories and 17 loses on the season thus far.
The Belarussian reached the quarterfinals of the Open 13, the Geneva Open, and the Libema Open. He fared better at the Atlanta Open, when he advanced to the semifinals.
Ivashka defeated eighth seed Hubert Hurkacz in the second round of the US Open, defeating the Pole 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3. Prior to that, the Belarusian defeated Sam Querrey in four sets in the opening round.
Lorenzo Musetti
Musetti defeated Gijs Brouwer 6-7(1), 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. He had earlier defeated David Goffin 3-6, 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (9) in a close battle.
Lorenzo Musetti has had an inconsistent season. The 20-year-old made a big step forward in the ATP 500 event in Hamburg, where he won his maiden championship by defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the final.
Aside from that, the youngster's season has been unimpressive.
After a slow start to the season, the Italian had his first notable performance at the Maharashtra Open, reaching the quarterfinals. He repeated his performance the following week, reaching the last eight of ATP Rotterdam. In April, the Italian advanced to the quarterfinals of the Grand Prix Hassan II.
Musetti had exited in the first round of all three Grand Slams previous to the 2022 US Open.

Meanwhile, Ivashka is used to getting fast points from his serve. To interrupt his opponent's rhythm, he employs strong groundstrokes and hits quick, flat returns.
Musetti's remarkable ability to manage the tempo of the game will be advantageous against the Belarussian, who may struggle to establish control of the points. Although there are no clear favorites in this match-up, Musetti should be able to move to the fourth round provided he can sustain his stamina.
