Airtel unveils interactive service in Hindi

Airtel announced the launch ofiKisaan, a unique interactive service specially designed in Hindi.

The service is a first for rural India and is targeted for residents of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Jharkhand.

With the launch of iKisaan, Airtel digital TV customers in these states can get real time access to crop prices, prevalent agri-input prices of say seeds, pesticides, weather information and localized farming advisory all in Hindi which is specific to their district. The service will be available to all the Airtel digital TV customers at no additional cost for the first month from launch.

“With over 60% of our customers coming in from rural areas, applications like these will create a stronger connect with our customers,” said Ajai Puri director and CEO of Airtel digital TV.

The service is powered by Handygo and aggregates content from authentic repositories that provide authentic localized information on crop, agri-input prices and information on weather.
