China’s web game market has generated 1 billion yuan ($155 million) during the first quarter of the year, according to a survey.

The data from a web game survey by Analysys International shows that China’s web game market has seen rapid growth due to the introduction of gaming platforms from traditional Internet service providers. Tencent, Baidu, Xunlei, 360 and others who developed their own platforms made considerable efforts and witnessed a growth of new users. The survey said by the end of the first quarter, many games have been put online and heavily promoted by the service providers.

The market will maintain a growth of over 10%, Analysys International said. It also predicted that in the following three quarters in 2011, web gaming will maintain a rapid growth.
