Microsoft said it had restored Hotmail services after a glitch left some users unable to access their accounts and others grappling with misplaced emails.

Some Apple iPhone users were yesterday still reporting problems with the device's alarm not chiming on time, an issue which was first discovered on January 1 and which Apple had claimed would resolve itself by Monday.

Ericsson has sold its US government-focused division to private equity firm Tailwind Capital, which has renamed the unit to Oceus Networks from Ericsson Federal.

Samsung said it has sold more than 10 million Galaxy S smartphones since the device's debut in June.

Chinese consumer electronics maker BenQ will launch its assault on the tablet PC market at end-January with a ten-inch unit running Android 2.0. The manufacturer will follow up with a seven-inch device later this year, Digitimes.com reports.

Hong Kong's City Telecom has hiredGlobalEnglish to improve its English communication skills, and implemented new processes including minimum English language scores on exams for management employees.
