NTT DoCoMo is in talks with videogame companies makers about adding 3G connectivity to games consoles, WSJ reported.

Chunghwa Telecom’s net profit increased 13% year on year to NT12.98 billion ($405m) in Q2, with revenues up 2.6% to NT$46.25 billion, reports Bloomberg.

The world’s mobile subscriber population passed 5 billion last Thursday, Ericsson has estimated. Ten years ago just 720m people used a mobile phone.

Australia’s NBN Co has unveiled 19 new locations that will be connected by fiber during its second phase rollout. Each area will initially reach 3,000 premises.

Apple has opened a retail store in Pudong , Shanghai, its second in China. It plans to open another 25 by the end of next year.
