Singapore Telecom has blasted the regulator’s proposal to issue 3G spectrum to a fourth player, saying the move has “little merit,” reports Business Times.

The IPO of Pakistan Wimax operator Wateen Telecom has been oversubscribed by 82%, according to Business Recorder.

XL Axiata posted Q1 earnings of 598.4 billion rupiah ($66.4m) compared with a restated loss of 217.2 billion rupiah a year before. Revenues grew 44.7%% to 4.2 trillion rupiah.

Three-month-old Indian cellco S Tel, backed by Bahrain Telecom, has notched up more than 1m subs, the company said.

ICANN has approved the top-level Chinese domain name ".zhongguo", written in pinyin, for Chinese web addresses.
