The latest Apple rumors suggest that the next iPhone will have a 1080p front-facing camera with flash capability.

Code hidden in early releases of iOS 9 hint at future iPhone front cameras having capabilities including 240fps slow motion and panoramic capture as well as the above features, the Independentreported.

Apple's front-facing camera has lagged behind the technology curve when compared to rival devices, so an upgrade of this sort could help Apple differentiate.

Apple is offering a beta program for the upcoming iOS 9 for the first time, allowing sharp-eyed experts to ferret out clues about the features to be included in the next iPhone.

The company is unlikely to announce its next smartphone until around August or September, the report states, so time will tell if the upgrades are coming to the next or future devices.
