More savvy pricing models needed

The adoption of tiered pricing models continues to spread across the globe and will increase as competition amongst communication service providers heats up with the advent of 4G, according to Redknee.

CEO Lucas Skoczkowski notes that operators are increasingly being challenged by competition, customer loyalty and increasing profitability.

“The development of innovative pricing models is a key strategy that responds to these challenges,” Skoczkowski said.

“But to do so successfully requires operators to become more sophisticated in their understanding of the implications of the launch of new pricing plans to an operator’s business objectives while being able to respond faster to competitor initiatives.”
