Mobile browser firm Opera Software is gearing up for future acquisitions by raising just over half a million kroner in a rights issue.

The firm, which claims to have 350 million internet users globally, netted 548 million kroner ($892.1 million) in an issue of eight million new shares to existing domestic and international investors.

Opera plans to use the funds to increase its capital base for current and future acquisition activities and obligations.
