PMC-Sierra appoints VP and GM for China operations

Tony Zhang has joined PMC-Sierra as vice president and general manager of its China operations in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.

Prior to joining PMC-Sierra, Zhang was general manager of the Mainstream Set-Top-Box Group at NXP Semiconductors (Phillips Semiconductor).

He has also held the position of corporate VP, GM of China VLSI at Conexant Systems Inc., co-founded Nanshanbridge Microelectronics Inc., and held technical positions at Leapfrog Enterprise, LSI Logic, and ZTE.

Zhang holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Hawaii.
