PMC-Sierra has completed the reference design for its upcoming HyPHY chipset supporting transport of Ethernet-based services over OTNs.
The HyPHY specifies direct mapping of Gigabit Ethernet to the OTN layer by the creation of a new container for the smallest optical data unit (1.238Gbps).
The reference design combines HyPHY's flexible packet interfaces and OTN payload tributary mapping technology, supporting the latest mapping modes.
