Famous Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, 34, said he plans to end his professional career when he turns 37.
Alvarez said at a press conference for the No Golf No Life tournament:
Canelo
[Turki Alalshikh] is definitely the one I'm going to retire with. My body is fine, I can keep fighting for several more years. 37 is the age I want to retire, not for boxing to retire me... I don't need to do it for the money or legacy. I said I'm going to retire at 37 and I'm sure I will.
Alvarez's next fight is scheduled against American Terence Crawford as part of a boxing night on September 13 in Las Vegas (USA).
Alvarez last stepped into the ring against William Scull on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Saul by unanimous decision. He has 63 wins (39 by knockout), two losses and two draws.
