Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali
As Formula 1 celebrates its 75th anniversary, it is fitting that we have announced an extension with the Canadian Grand Prix, a race that has such incredible history in our sport and is named after a true legend in Gilles Villeneuve.
In the Canadian Grand Prix held last weekend, British driver George Russell, representing Mercedes, took the victory. Current world champion Max Verstappen from Oracle Red Bull Racing finished in second place. Russell's teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli secured third place.
Earlier, it was reported that Formula 1 management had agreed to extend the contract for the Las Vegas Grand Prix through the end of 2027.
