Formula 1 has officially extended its contract to hold the Monaco Grand Prix through 2035. The previous agreement ran until the 2031 season.
F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali
It is an iconic race that is loved by all drivers and fans, with a unique vibe thanks to its location on the world’s most glamorous Principality. I would like to say a special thank you to His Royal Serene Highness, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club of Monaco and everyone involved in securing the long-term future of this historic partnership.
The Monte‑Carlo street race has been on the world championship calendar since F1’s inaugural season in 1950, and the event itself dates back to 1929. In the 2024 season Charles Leclerc of Scuderia Ferrari won the Monaco race; in May 2025 McLaren’s Lando Norris claimed victory.
After 15 rounds of the current season, McLaren’s Australian driver Oscar Piastri leads the drivers’ standings with 309 points. Lando Norris is second with 275 points, and three‑time world champion Max Verstappen of Oracle Red Bull Racing sits third with 205 points.
