Chelsea and Bayern Munich have opened talks over a potential transfer for forward Christopher Nkunku, journalist Florian Plettenberg reports.
According to the report, the clubs are in direct contact. Nkunku is reportedly interested in returning to the Bundesliga, while Chelsea say they will only let him go on a permanent transfer. Bayern, however, are considering a loan deal.
No final agreement has been reached yet, but Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has become actively involved in the negotiations.
Nkunku previously played in Germany for RB Leipzig. In the 2024–25 season he made 48 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 15 goals and providing five assists.
