London club Chelsea is considering demanding €89 million in compensation from Mykhailo Mudryk due to a potential doping violation, as reported by The Athletic.
The club could claim damages from the Ukrainian footballer related to his transfer.
Reports of a failed doping test emerged on December 17, 2025. Later, on February 8, it was revealed that even a negative "B" sample does not guarantee Mudryk immunity from sanctions. On April 22, it was reported that the player passed a polygraph test during the investigation. He faces a possible suspension of up to four years.
Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for a total of €100 million, bonuses included, but he did not make a significant impact in his debut game against Liverpool.
He has reportedly hired lawyers who previously represented Paul Pogba in a similar case, successfully reducing the Frenchman's suspension from four years to 18 months.
